California based band The War on Drugs play guitar based music with a wide number of American rock and folk influences includng Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and My Bloody Valentine. Music by The War on Drugs is however somewhat reminiscent of 1990s indie bands such a the Verve and Ride.
